It's purely speculation on my part, but I wonder if this and its companion 'zine, SCREAM! might have been a tangential inspiration for R.L. Stine's GOOSEBUMPS series of books. All were aimed at young adults, and all had horror and supernatural themes. MISTY leaned heavily toward the mystical and occult while SCREAM! went with straight-for-the-throat horror.
Obviously tailored for a female readership, the stories could nevertheless be enjoyed by both boys and girls. Although she did not introduce each story, Misty was designated as a hostess to the proceedings. With her black hair and seductive looks, she could have been Vampirella's ethereal sister.
