FANTASY ART SHOW NO. 2

Here's the second (and last?) issue of ART SHOW published by B. Singer in January-February 1978. Included is a  super cover by Jeff Jones, underground comics and film reviews, an article "So! You're Going to a Comics Convention", a profile of Phil Trumbo who went on to a professional career in animation, comics and films and won an Emmy Award. Lots of material shows what the scene was like back in the day. Also of note is a collection by John Linton illustrating WEIRD TALES author Joseph Payne Brennan's "The Chronicles of Lucius Leffing". And check out the illustration for the ad for the Boris Vallejo magazine -- looks very similar to Auraleon or Torrents' work for Warren. He certainly grew into his own, distinct style.

  1. Delightful! I grew up in an era rich with inventive and compelling artists. Thanks for reminding me. Loved the Jones cover, the Vallejo drawing, and the classic ads.
