THE NIGHT OF THE RIDING CORPSES

Time to get medieval, folks. An imaginative concept and atmospheric photography saves Armando de Ossorio's TOMBS OF THE BLIND DEAD from becoming typical Euro-horror fare. The popularity of this film, as well as the rest of the series, has me a little perplexed. But then, who I am to argue when so many other movies of this ilk are fawned over by fanatic fans? Although I've heard that Synapse Films is preparing a deluxe Blu-ray edition yet to be released, just try and find a decently priced copy that will work on Region 1 players. Go figure.

In the meantime, you can feast your eyes on this special edition of a West German 'zine (titled THE NIGHT OF THE RIDING CORPSES,  the movie's name in that country, and at the time, still behind the Berlin Wall), loaded with color photos from the film.
