ONE-OF-A-KIND KING KONG MEMORABILIA

Used to advertise films in theater lobbies were "hangers", heavy board mobiles that used characters, and in this case, a monster from the movie it was promoting.

The 80-year old example shown here is for the original 1933 RKO version of KING KONG. Now at auction, the 9.5" x 20.5" item is believed to be the only one known in existence. The dinosaur wings are an add-on and a bit of an anomaly, and without them, the hanger looks more like the T-Rex that Kong battled in the film.

The KING KONG hanger is expected to bring in $7,000 - $14,000.

This is as rare as monster movie memorabilia gets, folks!
