  1. I picked up the first few of those new Tarzan books and was rather disappointed. They sufficiently made but not overpoweringly so. And the covers by Jusko are really good but not great in my opinion. And the extras in each volume were quite meager. This is a lost opportunity I think to give readers solid volumes with copious background materials putting ERB's Ape Man into literary perspective. These books don't rise to that level sadly.

  2. There is certainly no shortage of ERB material anywhere you buy books these days. I came across nearly an entire shelf of his novels at a used book store last week, including some of the early Ace's. While I really like Jusko's art, it's not enough to get me to buy another edition of a book I already have -- unless of course it's from Canaveral Press.
