THE UNPUBLISHED CREEPY

It is not known for sure how many stories that were created for the pages of Warren's CREEPY, EERIE and VAMPIRELLA went unpublished. Since budgets were tighter than a squeaking coffin hinge, it is unlikely that there were many.

The two pages here are from a ca. 1970's unpublished story slated for CREEPY drawn by Reed Crandall and sold at two separate auctions. Whether or not these were offered piecemeal from a collector or that these are the only surviving pages is also a mystery.

The story was entitled, "The Dead Laugh Last" and the main character's name was Sam "Krandel". It is drawn on 12.5" x 18" Bristol board and the medium is ink and Zipatone over graphite.
