  1. I've been watching some vintage Republic serials and I am always impressed with the physical effects they were able to pull off, especially flying gags. It's the best stuff in that arena before Superman in the 70's. And I'm a big Bogart fan as well. I consider "The Maltese Falcon" the perfect movie, not a single wasted syllable. I can watch over and over again just marveling at the craftsmanship.

  2. Arthur Edeson was behind the camera for The Maltese Falcon. He was also the cinematographer of the 1931 Frankenstein!
