This is an issue of "firsts" for FM that had been publishing for about 5 years. This is the first time that text was used above the masthead on the cover since issue #5, and it would be used only a few more times over the life of the magazine (the addition of "Of Filmland" to the title returns after it had not been used in the previous three issues). The first installment of the regular feature, "Hall of Flame" debuts in this issue. Ackerman also writes the first filmbook for BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN from his recollection of watching the film, with the help of a few other people who "assisted his memory". The reader is also treated to 24 pages of Captain Company advertising!
