THIS IS THE ZODIAC SPEAKING

As if the Tate-LaBianca murders weren't enough to handle emotionally in California's Southland during the Summer of 1969, residents of the Bay Area were being terrorized by yet another madman, one who called himself Zodiac. He became known by the media as The Zodiac Killer.

Generally agreed upon by investigators, the first killing occurred on December 20, 1968 and continued into the 1970's. Zodiac taunted police with letters containing cryptograms that he claimed, if solved, would reveal his identity.

Despite hundreds of leads and a handful of suspects, the Zodiac murders remain unsolved and it is possible that he may still be living among us.

This article, from the March 2020 issue of MASTER DETECTIVE, provides a retrospective of when a human monster roamed freely to kill as he pleased.
