A far cry from the exquisite work of Al Willamson found in the first issue, but scripts by Archie Goodwin keep the stories entertaining. Frank Bolle's art is just not a good match for Flash. A nice cover by Gil Kane.

I enjoyed the King Flash Gordon series, even if the art wasn’t up to Alex Raymond level. I guess Archie Goodwin’s writing overcame the mediocre art.

  2. Indeed. It's hard to match Raymond and Willamson's Flash.
