THE OUTER LIMITS SUNDAY MARATHON (PART 1)
THE OUTER LIMITS
Vol. 1 No. 1
January-March 1964
Dell Publishing Co., Inc.
Editor: Don Arneson
Cover: Vic Prezio
Pages: 36
Cover price: 12 cents
Here starts posts of the first five issues of Dell's THE OUTER LIMITS comic. Licensed by Daystar Villa di Stefano, it ran for 18 issues. While sticking to science fiction stories populated by weird looking monsters, it bears little resemblance to the TV show, even lacking the famous "control voice" introduction. The cover is by men's adventure magazine turned comics artist, Vic Prezio. The script is probably written by Paul S. Newman (or possibly even by editor Don Arneson, who wrote a number of the DARK SHADOWS scripts for Gold Key). The pencils and inks are by Jack Sparling, who also did work for Warren. Not one of my favorite illustrators -- just never warmed up to his style. Nevertheless, a very readable and enjoyable comic series!
