"The Unique Magazine" has a long and storied history in the world of supernatural and "weird" literature. It was founded in March, 1923 by J. C. Henneberger and J. M. Lansinger and the first editor was Edwin Baird. Unfortunately, within a year the magazine was already in financial trouble and was bought and sold over the years, always somehow surviving. It's a good thing, otherwise we might not have been introduced to the likes of H.P. Lovecraft, Ray Bradbury, Robert E. Howard, Robert Bloch, and many others.
The issue presented here, shown over the next few days, is a representative example of what the magazine looked like before its "modern" resurrection. Notable are the stories, "Dagon", by Lovecraft, "Pigeons From Hell", by Howard (which was adapted for an episode of Boris Karloff's THRILLER), a tale by Bloch, and a non-Jules de Grandin story by Seabury Quinn.
Sadly, other than a Facebook presence it appears that the print edition of the magazine is once more languishing on the Dark Seas of Infinity.
