Elena Verdugo, who played Ilonka, the Gypsy girl in Universal's HOUSE OF FRANKENSTEIN (1944), passed away on 30 May 2017 at the age of 92. Born 20 April 1925 in Paso Robles, California, Miss Verdugo was probably best known as Consuelo Lopez, Robert Young's nurse on the popular 70s TV show, MARCUS WELBY, M.D., but more importantly, she was an early role model and inspiration for Hispanic women.
