FEMME FATALES VOL. 4 NO. 1 (PART 1)

FEMME FATALES
Vol. 4 No. 1 (whole number 13)
Summer 1995
Publisher: Frederick S. Clarke
Editor: Bill George
Pages: 64

New York Bureau guest editrix Catherine Carson lauds the arrival of more female writers in this issue, contributors who include Linnea Quigley, Lorissa McComis, Brinke Stevens and Tina Desiree Berg.

While some actually read FF for the articles, once again the photos are the main attraction, and they do not disappoint. Even the hard-edged, martial arts fighter Cynthia Rothrock shows her softer, curvier side. The photos accompanying the text for the Lesbian vampire-laced "Alternate Lifestyle" (penned by Stevens) are steamy for the times, and even include a exposed breast shots, rare for the pages of a magazine that makes a big deal regarding the respectability of its subjects.

Other highlights include an interview with Lara "Dark Shadows" Parker and the usual pics of the ubiquitous twosome, Linnea Quigley and Brinke Stevens. And, in the irony that befell so many of the actresses who spoke to interviewers for the pages of FF, Elizabeth Sandifer decries the erotic thrillers that made her popular and announces her retirement from these sometimes soft-core films to make her mark in mainstream movies. Unfortunately for her, Miss Sandifer gave up her meal ticket and was never heard from again.
