I really can't think of a better monster fanzine that could be found on newsstands. Since it was on the racks beside FAMOUS MONSTERS OF FILMLAND and CASTLE OF FRANKENSTEIN,  by rights it could be considered a commercial publication. But the inventive Larry Ivie found a way to distribute his nicely done fanzine, most likely through his connection with the early years of Cal Beck and CoF.

This was to be the last issue, and it's one of his best. Ivie continued to use the same design elements for the magazine that he had since the first issue, but his lines and formatting had been slowly evolving. This was most apparent with his comic strip, Altron Boy. Nevertheless, he had a free hand to do what he wanted, and do it he did.

This issue features a lengthy photo-feature on THE MUMMY movies, coverage of THE GREEN HORNET and the movie chapter serial KING OF THE ROCKET MEN. Included is a look at early fanboy and Monster Kid, Don Glut's work as a filmmaker. On of the photos shows an actor in a Don Post Metaluna Mutant mask.

MONSTERS AND HEROES was a favorite monster mag of mine during the time and it remains a prime example of what a dedicated fan could accomplish in the realms of imagination.
