Vol. 1 No. 3
Summer 1966
Publisher: Acme News Co., Inc.

Picture Research: Robin Bean
Designed and Produced by: The House of Horror, London
Pages: 68
SHRIEK was one of the most mysterious of the monster magazines to come out of the 1960s. With no staff listed on the masthead other than a person doing "picture research", it appeared to be produced in the U.K. but printed and distributed in the U.S. Many of the articles were slanted towards British films as well.
It was unique in the fact that the general tone of the magazine used a more serious, critical approach to horror films, and, with few exceptions, eschewed the whimsy that even CASTLE OF FRANKENSTEIN let out of the bag every so often.
Issue #3 is the next to the last issue of this quartet of a better than average monster mag. Included are articles on PLAGUE OF THE ZOMBIES, THE REPTILE, ONIBABA, and Hammer star Christopher Lee.
