LEONARD NIMOY INTERVIEW
Like many of the sensational events that happened in the monster-crazed 1960's, it's hard to describe the excitement from the anticipation of a brand-new TV show that promised wonders beyond the imagination. The show was called to be called STAR TREK and it was the hottest, most innovative science fiction series yet to be broadcast from a cathode ray tube. That's television in the vernacular.
I spent weeks absorbed in the 1968 Ballantine Book's gratifyingly thick, "The Making of Star Trek", by Stephen E. Whitfield and none other than the brains behind the vision, Gene Roddenberry. Subtitled, "What it is -- how it happened -- how it works!", I was immersed in the marvels and the magic that subsequently thrilled viewers for over 40 years.
A half-dozen or so years later, Marvel Comics' MONSTERS OF THE MOVIES ran an interview with one of the show's stars, Leonard Nimoy -- to the world of fans, better known as the Vulcan, Mr. Spock. It appeared in the 9th issue, also titled the Summer 1975 Annual. As a tribute to the late Mr. Nimoy, here now, is Spock, in his own words:
He will be greatly missed by his many fans...
